Spanish is my first language, and I usually speak it at home. I grew up speaking Spanish, and I learned how to speak English in kindergarten. I am extremely thankful to have grown up speaking two languages. I feel like I am good at the basics of Spanish, and maybe a little higher. I spend most of my time speaking English, so not practicing Spanish has affected how high my vocabulary words in Spanish are. The most challenging part of speaking in Spanish is conjugating every word correctly. I have noticed that I can mess up when doing this sometimes. Another challenging part of speaking in Spanish is being able to understand other people, depending on how much Spanish they know. I imagine practicing Spanish outside the classroom by continuing to speak Spanish outside of school. I think that it would be a great idea to speak Spanish when I go to professional places like the dentist and restaurants. I am hoping that by practicing I start to feel more comfortable speaking Spanish. I would like to shout out my partner Chris. Even though we missed a class, we were both able to practice and have a normal conversation. I feel that he really helped push the conversation to more than just the basics.
Spanish Video #2
For this weeks video, I got the chance to work with my partner Carly. Throughout the time we had to practice, most of the time Carly had to go play soccer. Even though we didn't have much one on one time, we practiced whenever we got the chance. I think I did well being able to challenge myself while still making it possible for my partner Carly to practice using useful phrases. A bright spot I discovered about myself is that I am good at compromising when the conversation is drifting. Something that worked really well surprisingly was our location and script. In the next video, I hope we are able to incorporate acting into our script.
